Printing digital camera pictures have become really easy today. One of the conventional ways is to send the memory card of the camera to the digital photo laboratory and let the people over there develop the images. But if you are a regular clicker and an insatiable photographer, then it would be better if you own a digital camera printer for yourself, or you can say digital photo printer for yourself.
Today, if you move in the market, you would come across several types of digital photo printers. There are top digital companies who provide these printers with unique features and faster processing features. Enough to make you confused! But before you get charmed by the style and features of a digital photo printer, there are some things you must keep in mind and base your buying decision on them.
First of all let's start with the basic. If you are not aware of the types of printing methods, here's a quick snapshot of them. There are basically 2 types of printing methods. The first one is known as the inkjet. This technology is commonly used for taking photo prints, but the quality of the prints is not that good. If you want a decent quality printout, you would need to have a 6-color printout. Moreover the ink cartridges of these printers are very expensive. However the major limitation of inkjet printers is that they don't provide images with a water proof coating, resulting in gradual fading of colors.
The other type of printing method is known as thermal printing. This printing method provides good quality print outs and also provides images with a waterproof coating. Moreover the cartridges and paper employed in these printers is much cheaper.
Digital photo printers are basically of two types: 4-color printers and 6-color printers. Today you can also find an 8-color printer. The number of color determines the quality of the printouts. The higher the number, the better the quality gets. If you use an 8-color digital photo printer, the quality of your printout would certainly the photo lab people in quandary.
When you review a printer, you should check whether the printer is capable of printing the size of the images you want or not. If it is not able to print that size, you would literally end up wasting a lot of paper and ink.
Before buying a printer, don't get enticed by the resolutions, features and bells of the printer. Having these features doesn't mean that you would get the best quality printouts. Always check for the features which would solve your purpose of intended printing quality.
Now that you have bought a digital photo printer for yourself, you need to know how to print photographs from your digital camera. Well, if you directly want to print photographs from the camera, you need to verify that both the printer and the camera are PictBridge compliant. PictBridge basically allows the interfacing of a complaint camera and printer via a USB cable.
It is advisable that you download or buy some photo editing software, so that you can apply your creativity, before printing the photographs. Editing your photographs before printing also allows you to enhance the photographs by adjusting colors, brightness and sharpness of the pictures.
So enjoy printing your favorite images with digital photo printer and smile at your creativity.
